Hello All,
I want to implement a Physical Standby database on my oracle server . The details are:
Listener on Primary : prod
TNS alias poitig to Primary : toprod
Listener on Standby : stand
TNS alias poiting to Standby : tostand
Now my doubt is , what need to be given on fal_server and fal_client of the init.ora parameters on the primary and the standby machine .
And what all would be the problems/issues with the standby database .
Any help on this will be appreciated .
Regards,
Rajasekhar

Thanks ebrian , for that reply .
And I was also asking you that what would be the most occurring and facing issues with respect to a physical standby database.
Can you please help me out .

Hi Babu,
Thanks for clearing that confusion , but for a small clarification as I did mention in my mail that the details about my TNS and Listeners are as below :
Listener on Primary : prod
TNS alias pointing to Primary : toprod
Listener on Standby : stand
TNS alias pointing to Standby : tostand
Can you please mention once again what to mention (FAL_SERVER and FAL_CLIENT) in the init.ora parameters in the Primary and in the Physical Standby databases.
And is it mandatory to specify these parameters in Oracle 10g Rel2 .
And also we need to mention the parameters like
log_archive_dest_1 and log_archive_dest_2 . What should be the values for this .
Please clarify on this .
Regards,
Raj
